Bitget CLO letter ties 8th anniversary to reserves, security controls and cross-market compliance
Bitget used its eighth anniversary to outline how the exchange says its responsibilities have expanded alongside its business. In an open letter from its chief legal officer, the company said it has grown from a crypto derivatives venue into what it calls a Universal Exchange, now serving more than 125 million users and expanding across crypto, tokenized stocks, commodities and other global markets. The letter frames that growth around three operating priorities: verifiable transparency, layered security and jurisdiction-specific compliance. Bitget said it has published monthly Proof of Reserves data since December 2022, maintaining at least a 1:1 reserve ratio for user assets and offering Merkle Tree-based verification. In September 2026, it released its 46th consecutive reserve report, showing a total reserve ratio of 135%, with the average ratio staying above 120%. The company also said it expanded the number of assets covered by reserve verification from four to 19 this month. The letter also highlighted a $300 million user Protection Fund launched in 2022, which Bitget said had an average valuation of about $382 million in August 2026. It detailed account-level and backend security tools, a market integrity framework introduced earlier this year, regulatory registrations and approvals across multiple jurisdictions, and a new UEX Security Standard being developed with BlockSec.
