ChatGPT Finances adds Experian credit tracking for U.S. Plus and Pro users

OpenAI has added credit score tracking to ChatGPT Finances, letting U.S. Plus and Pro users connect their Experian credit report and view a VantageScore 3.0 without first linking a bank account. The rollout is happening across web, iOS, and Android. Once connected, ChatGPT can review reported accounts, balances, credit limits, utilization, payment history, and inquiry records, then explain what is affecting a user’s score. Credit reports and scores update monthly, and the tool can also flag new inquiries, new accounts, or address changes. OpenAI says checking a score this way counts as a soft inquiry, so it does not lower the user’s credit score. The feature can also analyze credit report data alongside financial account data connected through Plaid in Finances, including which credit card is using the most available credit and which balance may need to be paid down first. OpenAI also said that after a user disconnects Experian, the underlying credit report data will be deleted within 30 days, but information already stored in chat history or Financial Memories will not be removed automatically.

Kalshi Pushes Back on Wash-Trading Claims Over Repeated $5,500 Ether Perp Orders

Kalshi is contesting claims that volume in its crypto perpetual futures market was artificially inflated after Stealth Neolab co-founder Beni highlighted unusual trading patterns in the platform’s ether perpetual contract. In a Sept. 20 thread on X, Beni said the contract posted about $539 million in 24-hour volume against roughly $3.1 million in open interest, implying turnover of around 174 times. He later added that trades sized at exactly $5,500 accounted for 48% to 58% of ether perp notional volume on four days between Sept. 16 and Sept. 20, and said the largest position shown on Kalshi’s public leaderboard was $17,598 when he captured the data. Beni linked the activity to market makers or self-clearing members and cited a CFTC filing describing a program in which eligible makers receive 0.3 basis points while takers pay 0.3 basis points, netting to zero. Kalshi’s IcoBeast.eth rejected the allegations, saying the chart at the center of the dispute tracked prediction-market share rather than perpetuals volume and that Kalshi measures volume by maximum contract payout, as Polymarket does, because each contract settles at $1.

South Korea counted 1,909 minor business heads in 2021-2025, including a toddler-age case with annual pay above 100 million won

Data disclosed by Democratic Party lawmaker Moon Jin-seok showed that 1,909 people under age 18 were registered as heads of business entities in South Korea between 2021 and 2025, averaging 382 a year. Among them, an average of 21 minors a year reported annual compensation above 100 million won, and one case fell in the 0-to-5 age bracket. The data came from the National Health Insurance Service and refers to compensation reported for workplace health insurance purposes. The breakdown showed most high-income cases were concentrated among those aged 11 to 15. Industry data for the top 100 minor earners over the five-year period also pointed heavily to real estate, rental and business services, which accounted for 95 of the 100 cases. Korean media said many such cases involve buildings passed down from parents or grandparents and then rented out, including stores, officetels and homes. Moon called on the National Tax Service and the health insurer to jointly examine whether some cases involved disguised gifts through family corporations or income splitting. He had also released separate tax data on Sept. 7 showing that 3,233 minors reported real-estate rental income in 2024, with total declared income of 55.584 billion won.

Bessent says Iranian airlines will be shut down from Sept. 23 as oil prices rise

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a CNBC interview that all Iranian airlines would be effectively shut down starting Sept. 23, warning that any party providing fuel, landing services, or ticket sales to those carriers could be cut off from the U.S. dollar system. His remarks followed the Treasury Department’s Sept. 8 sanctions action, which targeted 36 entities, including 27 Iranian airlines such as Mahan Air and companies handling cargo and ticketing services for the carrier. Bessent said Washington was applying pressure on Iran with what he described as an unprecedented level of force and was also moving against facilitators worldwide, including banks. CNBC noted that the Treasury last week sanctioned Russia’s state-owned VTB Bank as part of a broader effort to isolate Iran’s economy by targeting its commercial partners and financial backers. Oil moved higher after Bessent’s comments, while traders also watched diplomatic signals tied to Iranian President Pezeshkian’s trip to New York for the U.N. General Assembly and fresh tensions involving the Houthis and key maritime chokepoints.

2026 East Forward conference in Shanghai turns the spotlight to long-term global operations for Chinese companies

Chinese companies are no longer treating overseas expansion as a search for quick incremental growth. That was the central theme at 36Kr’s 2026 East Forward conference in Shanghai on Sept. 17, where speakers from sectors including new energy vehicles, cross-border e-commerce, AI applications, smart hardware, consumer electronics and new consumer brands discussed how global expansion is shifting toward long-cycle operating capability. Participants focused on what happens after market entry: building local teams, rebuilding supply chains and channels, managing compliance, forming durable brand recognition and connecting data, customers and operating systems. 36Kr Vice President Xie Zuoqiang said the old model of simply selling goods abroad is no longer the main challenge. Companies now need brands that can hold up overseas, accounts that can be clearly managed, and operations that can withstand governance and compliance pressure. The conference also examined AI as a new commercial entry point, the economics of AI-generated short dramas, capital allocation in the later stage of globalization, and the growing role of service ecosystems. Alongside the main forum, East Forward released three company rosters tied to globalization and held a business matchmaking session involving 28 companies.

PlanB says BTC is above all major realized price levels and could set a new high this cycle

PlanB said in a post on X that Bitcoin is trading at about $87,000 and has moved above all major realized price levels he tracks. He listed the aggregate realized price at roughly $53,000, the 155-day realized price at about $72,000, and the 2-year realized price at around $86,000. Based on those levels, he said the odds of BTC falling below $53,000 in the current cycle are now low. He also argued that the view that Bitcoin would revisit the aggregate realized price, as it did in prior bear markets, has lost what he described as its last relatively clear condition for holding. In the same post, PlanB said price action in 2025 and 2026 fits the pattern of a historically milder bull-bear cycle. He added that he expects Bitcoin to print a new all-time high during the current halving cycle, which he defined as running from 2024 to 2028.
